Giovanni Gnocchi, violoncello

Ha studiato con R. Filippini, M. Brunello, E. Bronzi e C. Hagen. Violoncello solista della Camerata Salzburg, si è laureato al Concorso Internazionale Primavera di Praga e al Concorso F. J . Haydn del la Wiener Konzerthaus. Dopo il suo debutto assieme a Yo-Yo Ma, ha suonato come solista sotto la direzione di G. Dudamel, C. Hogwood, C. Rizzi, all'Hong Kong Arts Festival, al Mozarteum Salzburg, al Wiener Konzerthaus e al Essen Philharmonie. Premiato dal Borletti-Buitoni Trust, e invitato come Guest Principal Cellist nella Philharmonia Orchestra, ha suonato con i membri del Quartetto Hagen, i Mahler Chamber Soloists, A. Madzar, T. Riebl, E. Fisk, al Festival Casals in Prades, Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Festival de Montreux, ed ha debuttato alla Wigmore Hall in duo con la pianista Mariangela Vacatello.

Solo-Cellist of Camerata Salzburg, he graduated in the International Prague Spring Cello Competition and the Haydn Competition of the Wiener Konzerthaus. After his solo debut together with Yo-Yo Ma in 2001, he appeared as soloist under the baton of G. Dudamel, C. Hogwood, C. Rizzi, at the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Mozarteum Salzburg, Wiener Konzerthaus, Essen Philharmonie. Awarded by the Borletti-Buitoni Trust, and invited as Guest Principal Cellist in the Philharmonia Orchestra, where he played with the members of Hagen Quartet, Mahler Chamber Soloists, A. Madzar, T. Riebl, E. Fisk, at the Festival Casals in Prades, Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Festival de Montreux, and he played in Wigmore Hall with Mariangela Vacatello.
