Guido Corti, horn He is considered one of the most representative soloists of his instrument currently active at an international level. After completing his studies in Italy, he continued training in Chicago with Dale Clevenger and Arnold Jacobs. Winner in 1976 of the international competition in Colmar (France), he then made some radio and television recordings for various European and American networks. In 1977, he performed as soloist at the International French horn Seminar at East Lansing in the United States, subsequently embarking on a solo career that has led him to perform not only in Italy and in the United States, but also in Austria, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, etc. In Italy, he is regularly a guest of leading concert companies including the RAI, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Orchestra Regionale Toscana, the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, the Accademia Chigiana, the Estate Fiesolana, the Solisti Veneti, the Filarmonica Romana, the Società Aquilana dei Concerti. He is currently a teacher at the Conservatorio “L. Cherubini” in Florence and the “Scuola di Musica di Fiesole”, and also holds seminars and classes throughout the world for his own instrument and chamber music for wind instruments; over 40 professionals working with the leading orchestras have trained in his French horn classes. A member of various chamber ensembles, including the prestigious “Mullova Ensemble”, he has worked on recordings of most of the repertoire for French horn, recording as soloist for the Nuova Era and Chandos labels. He is author of “Il Corno” (published by Zecchini), a historic and technical work that is unique of its kind for this instrument. |
